Everything is heritage, but not all heritage is of equal interest. In the scale of value, the ensemble "Coteaux, Maisons et Caves de Champagne" reached the highest level in 2015 when UNESCO inscribed it on the World Heritage List. As a place of memory and culture of the Champagne region, this unique property is now part of the common heritage of humanity.

What are the Coteaux, Maisons et Caves de Champagne made of? Three core areas (the historic Coteaux from Cumières to Mareuil-sur-Aÿ, the Avenue de Champagne in Épernay, the Colline Saint-Nicaise in Reims), a vast area of 320 towns and villages forming the setting of the property, and many remarkable attributes that illustrate its Outstanding Universal Value (OUV).

To be able to transmit it to the future generations, it is now advisable to inscribe this Good in the duration, to place it above any attack. The Mission Coteaux, Maisons et Caves de Champagne is the arrow that indicates the road to follow. It wants to mobilize all the actors, all the inhabitants, all the tourists around this objective of preservation and good management.
